I am a copy cat. In my crafting, I have always been a copy cat who tweaks-- I admit it for all to read!

Here is my latest copy cat creativity:
It is great to have grandchildren. It is also fun to be able to make things for them, as I did for my kids. Sometimes I actually am able to create fun stuff.
Late last fall one of my daughters asked if I would make Christmas stockings for her two little girls. I was so honored that she asked me to help with her family tradition. She gave me a link to a place that had several stocking designs. She said she didn't care what I made. WOW! Again, I felt so happy that she had entrusted me to design this family heirloom.
It took me a bout a week to decide what I wanted to put on them. I am not an angel fan, but when I saw this clip art I knew what the tops of the stockings need to have on them. Just below the clip art are the finished stockings. I have to say, it was one of those fun times I have had at being creative!

Soooo, putting pictures on here is going to take practice. Hopefully you can see what it all looks like.

Here are the two stockings. I am not good at embroidery but ended up sewing their names on the top white lace. I forgot to take a picture of that!
Instead of holding a heart, they are holding a ribbon with beads the word "BELIEVE". I had to buy two packages of alphabet beads because there weren't enough "E"s for both stockings! But it was worth it, don't you think?

So, I started 'pinning'. I am not at all techie but this seems to fascinate me. Or maybe it just gives an excuse to play on the computer instead of exercising. It also gives me something to converse about in a group of younger women, like my daughters.

Many, many years ago, when websites were becoming popular, I wanted to start one on sewing. Hints, techniques, patterns, products, ideas, etc. -- I wanted to share all the fun! I have even wished I could have had a public access TV show. I love the ones on TV now! One of my favorites is Quilting Arts TV. The host, Pokey (yes her real name) brings a whole new world of creative sewing and fabric crafts to my knowledge base.

In the more recent years, I have been doing a lot of alterations to make prom dresses look like a young woman would feel comfortable in it. Some times it is a challenge because of the way they are made. But I like to do them. For the website, I had even thought about presenting all the many ways of making a dress modest -- especially for those delightful prom dresses. Here is one dress -- the pics are a little out of order but you can see what was done.

This is the back --- yes, there was a hole.

This is the front ...

And this is the dress I began with. The color was gorgeous and we lucked out by having a friend who had this extra piece of curtain sheer that matched perfectly. And there is a whole story behind my friend being there to give us the fabric. I often saw miracles happen because these girls wanted to have a modest, high fashion dress. It is one of the fun things I do with sewing.

Of course, I also wanted to be behind the scenes of The Price is Right --- inventing games --- not modeling!

Guess I got side tracked.
So, I started 'pinning' . . . more stories later!
